Al-Razi also wrote on medicine, physics, astrology, literature, history and law. Like his predecessor al-Ghazali, he was an adherent of the Shafi'i school in law. He was one of the outstanding figures in Islamic theology. He travelled widely in the eastern lands of Islam.
