'The story of the scorpion dripping with sweat'. A novel in the Arabic language by Akram Muslim (b. 1971), awarded the 2007 Qattan Foundation Young Writer Award. This narrative story uses the scorpion as a metaphor...a young Palestinian dreams of a scorpion trying to climb a mirror, but falling again and again, dripping with sweat...but can a scorpion with no pores sweat? Using this metaphor, the story recounts the conflict and impotence of the occupied Palestinians with their time and place.
