Translated to Arabic, «Pale Fire», a 1962 novel by Russian-American novelist Vladimir Nabokov (1899- 1977). This classic novel is written as a 999 line poem by a fictional poet (John Spade), with a foreword, commentary and index written by a neighbor and colleague of Spade. Both fictional authors (the poet and the colleague) are characters in the narrative, which is ranked as one of the 100 greatest novels of the 20th Century. Translated to Arabic by Muhammad Jalid.
