ABOUT IBN TAYMIYYA
Ibn Taymiyya (661/1263—728/1328) was one of the most eminent scholars of his time and is considered by some to be a Reviver of Islam. Ibn Taymiyya followed in the footsteps of the Righteous Predecessors (al-salaf al-ṣāliḥ), and ultimately maintained that authentic revelation and sound reason are always harmonious and concordant. While elaborating his theology he sought to repudiate the philosophers, speculative theologians (mutakallimūn) and monists.

ABOUT TALLAL M. ZENI
Tallal M. Zeni is a surgeon, writer and researcher who has an interest in traditional Islamic theology. He has translated selections from two writings of Ibn al-Qayyim titled «Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya on Knowledge» and «Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya on Divine Wisdom and the Problem of Evil». He has also written a work on the problem of evil titled «Revival of Piety Through an Islamic Theodicy».
