This set covers personalities involved in the Algerian resistance against the French occupation and colonization (1839-1962). The purpose is to keep the distinction of the leaders of the resistance separate from political and sectarian rivalries prevailing in the current era, and to fill a gap left from coverage of only early jihad personalities.
