Early Arabic poetry by al-Maghirah ibn Abd Allah Uqayshir al-Asadi (d. 699 or 700 CE), with editing and interpretation by Khalil Duwayhi. Uqayshir al-Asadi, who was born in the jahiliyya, had a colorful personality, as some of his poetry reveals. A small amount of his excellent poetry, written somewhat in the Bedouin tradition, remains.
