Translated from the Original book, «Suwar Min Hayat al-Taba'in» (1974, Stories from the lives of the successers to the companions) by the Syrian pioneer of Islamic literature, Abd al-Rahman Ra'fat al-Basha (1920-1986), beautifully told in an easy to read manner.

Dr. Al-Basha gleaned information on the lives of the successors, from dozens of classical texts, and wove the threads of information into small but exquisitely delineated tapestries which represent the first portraits of the successors which are easily accessible to the modern reader.

In presenting this book, it is hoped that the younger generation, will benefit immensely from a very magnificent, enjoyable and educational work, the content of which will have a decided impact on their personal lives which in turn would produce positive effects on Muslims’ beliefs, lives and worship, through exposure to some of the jewels of our Islamic legacy.
